Learning to pray!!!!

So Family home evening was fun last night. I dont know how people do it. How do you teach your kids revernce and to sit when one is old enough and the other well ur just not too sure about!!!! I sit and think even if I had a husband, we would probablly be adding more kids to the family which still puts the kids at the top of the food chain!!! Wow it takes courage to have kids. It was great. So I am trying to teach my kids to pray. KayteLynn has got the whole folding your arms things down, but that last through DE... and then she is gone again. :) As for LaNea she thinks that everytime we say a prayer that means she says a prayer. So I am trying to teach her that other people say prayers also. HA!!! I dont know if she is like me just that dense or she honeslty doesnt get it!!! He is out prayer last night, and in no way am I disrespecting prayer this is what honestly happened.

MOM- "K LaNea we are going to say a prayer and it is Kates turn to pray because you said opening"

LaNea- " OK Mom"

Mom(Kayte)- Dear ____________ (You get it I dont want to put it all on here for obvious reasons)
LaNea- Dear __________

Mom(Whisper voice)- "No SHHH LaNea it is Kaytes turn u just listen

LaNea- "Oh (giggle) Sorry Mom"

Mom(Katye)- "Thank you for today"

LaNea- "Thank you for today"

Mom(A Little bit louder) - "No LaNea SHHHH Kayte is saying the prayer"

LaNea- "Oh yeah sorry mom (giggle)

Ok so long story short this went on for 5 mins. Talk about being annoyed, LOL!!! WOW!!!! But I didnt get mad because I honestly think she was trying to let Kayte say it. I have no idea. So I am thinking I either have some really really bad communication issues, or she had even worse listening skills!!!!

But on the less frustrating side of things, on sunday we couldnt find LaNea's other black shoe so I had her kneel down and pray that we find it. As soon as the prayer was said I looked up and there was her shoe. So I grabbed it and said "Look LaNea we found it." She replied with "WOW MOM I LOVE HEAVENLY FATHER HE HELPED US FIND OUR SHOE"

No words can express the joy in a lesson well learned, and now anytime she cant find anything she asks me to pray with her to help us find it.

I am not a great teacher ask all my young woman who had to listen to me teach some sundays, But with the Lords help anything is teacheable and anyone can teach it.
